About this guide
Every page here answers one question about claiming unemployment benefits in Minnesota, then points at the page on DEED's own site where you act on it. This guide is independent: not DEED, and not a government site.
What it covers
The guides cover filing an application, who qualifies after a quit or a discharge, how much a week pays, how many weeks an account lasts, the weekly payment request and the work search behind it, denials and appeals, overpayments and fraud, tax on benefits, offices and phone numbers, job search help, and disability benefits. The Minnesota unemployment home page lists each one with a line on what it answers.
How it is kept
Every figure, deadline, and phone number on these pages is checked against DEED's own pages at ui.mn.gov, the official site for Minnesota unemployment insurance information and services, and against the Minnesota Statutes where the rule is a statutory one. So is every link to a government page.
Each guide lists the official pages behind it, and carries at its foot the date those pages were last read. Links to job boards are not official sources and are no part of that claim.
What it cannot do
Nobody here can see your benefit account, change a determination, or move a payment, and this guide cannot tell you whether you qualify. That decision is DEED's, made on the facts of your own case and sent to you in writing. Nothing here is legal advice.
For a question about your own claim, who to contact about a Minnesota claim has the line that answers and the address to write to. For a determination that went against you, denials, appeals, and overpayments has the deadline and how to file.
