UI Customer Service, Twin Cities area: 651-296-3644

There is no contact form here, and it would not help if there were: nobody at this guide can see your benefit account, change a determination, or release a payment. DEED holds all of it, and only DEED can answer about your own claim.

Asking DEED about your claim

UI Customer Service is the line for a question about your own account. A representative is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The automated phone system keeps wider hours, Sunday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., so a call outside those weekday hours still reaches the system.

The number above is for the Twin Cities calling area. Minnesota unemployment phone numbers and local offices carries the Greater Minnesota line and the teletypewriter line as well, and the day and half-day the automated line takes a weekly payment request, which the last digit of your Social Security number decides.

The automated system opens in English, Spanish, Hmong, or Somali. In any other language, press 1 and the prompts lead to a representative who can arrange an interpreter.

Where to send paper

Anything on paper goes to UI Customer Service, P.O. Box 4629, St. Paul, MN 55101-4629. Fax: 651-205-4007.

Doing it online

ui.mn.gov is the official site for Minnesota unemployment insurance information and services, and an older bookmark for the program sends you there automatically. Requesting a Minnesota benefit payment each week and how to file for unemployment in Minnesota cover what you do inside your own account, a password you cannot remember included.

Reporting fraud or identity theft

Reports go to DEED on its fraud and identity theft form, which is also where you report an imposter unemployment account opened in your name in Minnesota. What a fraud finding costs, and what it does not, is set out in denials, appeals, and overpayments.

Other Minnesota programs

Minnesota Paid Leave is a separate program from unemployment insurance, and Minnesota disability benefits has how to apply for it and the number to call. For help finding work rather than a claim question, Minnesota job search on CareerForce covers what staff at a location can do for you.
